PEDAL ON THE PIER

It is the vision of the Harold Robinson Foundation to provide a level playing field for our community's underserved children. At Camp Ubuntu, children from under-served, inner city schools & organizations get the opportunity to experience nature, play, sports, use team-work, learn goal-setting, eat nutritious food and receive mentorship from exceptional counselors. These programs are designed to strengthen confidence and independence, build character and develop leadership skills. In addition to “Camp Ubuntu” sleep away camp retreats, the Harold Robinson Foundation brings summer day camp to Markham Middle School in Watts, provides parenting classes, and other programs that help build community in a positive way.

In support of this foundation, our team is participating in the Pedal on the Pier fundraiser. We will collectively ride (in place) on a stationary bike for 5 hours/ 100 miles on the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday, June 4, 2017. We would be most grateful if you could support our efforts with a tax-deductible donation of ANY size.

While we believe charity begins at home, occasionally we ask our friends and colleagues to join us supporting particularly good causes. This is one of those occasions.

First we would like to thank those people who supported the Leanse Family Team last year, especially the Power Sponsors (BALLARD SPAHR,  GOLDMAN SACHS, GOODWIN PROCTER, KATTEN MUCHIN ROSENMAN, KENNERLY LAMISHAW &  ROSSI, MANATT AND VENABLE)   whose names are on the back of our 2016 Team T-shirt. With the support of family and friends last year the Leanse Family Team raised over $100,000. To everyone who contributed.    THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Every year since its opening in 2001 one or more of our children have been campers, CITs, Assistant Counselors or Counselors at Canyon Creek Sports Camp. This year is no exception. Shortly after CCSC opened, the Harold Robinson Foundation started raising money to help give scholarships to underprivileged kids to attend camp and to bring groups of kids from the inter-city to camp to have an out of city experience. In previous years we contributed to their efforts. Several years ago, the Harold Robinson Foundation sponsored a spin-a-thon on the Santa Monica Pier where teams would spin 100 miles to raise money to help send kids to camp. In the past, one or more of our kids have been riders in this spin-a-thon. Two years ago,  Barbara and I moved from passive check writing sponsoring our children to active participants with our children. So, on this year on June 4th, Barbara and I, some of our children and some friends will collectively ride for 5 hours on a spinning bike on Santa Monica Pier,  We are now asking you to support the Leanse Family and Friends Team.

Any contribution you make will make you feel good because you are helping someone else.

For a $250 contribution you will get a picture of members of our team

For a $500 contribution you will get an autographed picture of members of our team.

For a $1000 contribution you will get video excerpt of me riding after 60 minutes.

For a $2500 contribution you will get a Leanse Family and Friends Team T-shirt personalized with your name (need to specify size)

For a $5000 contribution (posted prior to May 25th) you will be listed as a sponsor on our T-shirts and get up to 5 personalized T-shirts.

Please consider donating through the Team Leanse page  or through Barbara's page or my page or one of our other team members pages. (All pages are through the Leanse Family and Friends Team)

SPIN IT FORWARD!

100 miles! 100 bikes! 100 teams!
Together we hope to raise $1 million to send inner city kids to camp!

Thank you for supporting our effort in trying to make a difference in a child's life.
