100 miles! 100 bikes! 100 teams!
Together we hope to raise $1 million to send inner city kids to camp!

On Sunday, June 4th, The Best Friends Board is cycling for a really good cause – to support LA’s BEST and send some of LA’s BEST kids to camp! I'm currently on the board for LA's BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow) and while I cannot attend the event in person this year, I am still supporting the event through fundraising effort.

I personally feel that school should be so much more than standardized tests - kids should learn things like technology, art, music, dance, sports and have the opportunity to explore the world beyond their neighborhoods with field trips. That's why I support LA's BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow) which provides amazing programming for kids K-5 in 194 public schools in economically distressed neighborhoods throughout the City of LA.  This year, we are teaming up with the Harold Robinson Foundation and their annual cycling event called Pedal on the Pier, with a goal of raising $90,000 to send LA’s BEST kids to camp!

Also, did you know that in the inner city the prime year for gang recruitment is 5th grade? I was in shock when I heard this stat. Programming aside, keeping kids safe during the critical gang recruitment year and giving them confidence, leadership and team building skills is so important to me. If you can afford anything to support this great cause (even $5) I would be so appreciative. Not only will your donation help us reach our goal and help send kids to camp, you will also receive a wristband to come participate in the day’s activities at the Santa Monica Pier!

Thank you for supporting our effort in trying to make a difference in a child's life.
