CONGRATULATIONS

We at the Harold Robinson Foundation would like to congratulate you on your upcoming participation in Pedal on the Pier.

If you have never participated in POTP you are definitely in for a treat. The energy that emanates off the pier during those 5 hours could power the Southern California grid for 5 weeks. I find that the moment its over, like a little kid again, I start counting down the days until next year's event. I feel pretty confident in telling you that this could possibly be the greatest fundraising event you've ever been involved with.

For those of you who have participated in POTP before, I'm happy to see you back, and I'm pretty sure you're all as excited about this year's event as I am.

Speaking of fundraising...I've included some fundraising tips below that you may find helpful.

If you have any questions or need any help with your fundraising efforts or page, please contact:
Michelle Brookman: Michelle@haroldrobinsonfoundation.org (310) 365-7884

Thanks, Jeff Robinson Co-Founder, Harold Robinson Foundation

FUNDRAISING MADE EASY! HELPFUL TOOLS FOR YOU!

1) Set up your personal page with a photo & a heart-felt paragraph about why you are participating and what a great cause this is. If you are donating yourself, be sure to do it before sending the link to others.

2) Solicit donations from your “sure things” and largest donors. Send them a personal email possibly asking for a specific amount. These larger donations will be there on your page to act as inspiration as you start to cast a wider net. Remember to always include your personal fundraising link in all emails, texts and posts.

3) E-mail all of your friends & contacts a letter that includes the link to your donation page. Share that link on your social media…Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snap! You will be surprised at who will donate. Please note that Instagram captions don’t allow direct links so you must put it in your bio or direct people to search for your name after clicking on DONATE at WWW.PEDALONTHEPIER.COM. *** ON FACEBOOK PLEASE DO NOT USE THEIR SUGGESTION TO CREATE A FUNDRAISER OR USE THEIR DONATE BUTTON…WE HAVE TROUBLE TRACKING THE DONORS THAT WAY!! JUST POST YOUR LINK SO DONATIONS ARE MADE THROUGH THE PEDAL ON THE PIER WEBSITE. THX!

4) As the date gets closer to the ride, repeat your letters, facebook posts and text reminders. Try to encourage your friends & family that no donation is to big or too small. Gifts of $5, $10 or $25 all add up! Don’t be shy -have found that emails often get overlooked in our cluttered world and 2nd or 3rd touches are not pushy, they are necessary.

5) Use a photo attached to your letters & posts. A photo can be better than 100 words! Feel free to “share” from the Pedal on the Pier Facebook page or take a screen shot from any of our social channels, The POTP website or the Harold Robinson Foundation website. WWW.HAROLDROBINSONFOUNDATION.ORG

6) Fundraising tool kit: We can email you some sample letters for fundraising or if you have any questions contact Michelle Brookman: MICHELLE@HAROLDROBINSONFOUNDATION.ORG

7) UBUNTU IS AN ANCIENT AFRICAN WORD THAT HAS INSPIRED THE HAROLD ROBINSON FOUNDATION. IT MEANS, "I AM, BECAUSE WE ARE." IN THE SPIRIT OF UBUNTU, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU ARE DOING TO HELP OUR FOUNDATION AND OUR COMMUNITY. WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!
